Canadian Journal of Art Therapy New Special Issue

This special issue of the Canadian Journal of Art Therapy/Revue canadienne d’art-thérapie, emerges from a spirit of collaboration between the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA) and the Ontario Art Therapy Association (OATA) inspired by the 2024 CATA Conference in Thunder Bay/Anemki Wajiw. Together, we honour the diverse lived experiences, cultural backgrounds, and wisdom traditions that shape our field. This issue celebrates transformative change with welcome, warmth, and a commitment to community connections. We recognize that healing and transformation arise when we create spaces that are not only inclusive, but also actively anti-oppressive, and when we center Indigenous and marginalized voices.
