Canadian Journal of Art Therapy New Issue (Copy)
This issue explores the experience of belonging in four different ways. Firstly, belonging is relational and co-constructed, as it emerges between individuals, environment, and artwork. Secondly, belonging is also contextual and environmental, shaped by spaces, social systems, and technologies that inform ideas about inclusion and exclusion. Third, belonging is ethical and reflective. As practitioners, it is our responsibility to cultivate felt experiences of belonging through inclusive practices. Finally, belonging is embodied and expressive. When creating artwork, belonging is an immediate felt experience and not solely discussed as theory.
