CATA-ACAT 2021 Conference Bursary for BIPOC Creative Arts Therapists and Students

As an effort to broaden access to opportunities for art therapy education and professional development, and to expand spaces for communities that historically and ongoingly face disadvantages and marginalization in academic and professional structures, this year we have established a bursary to support creative arts therapists and students who identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of colour or racialized, and experience financial barriers in attending our upcoming virtual conference (we do not require an explanation of the financial barrier).

We are accepting applications for a limited number of bursaries. Application closes on October 22, 2021.

What applicants will be asked to share in the application form:

  • Self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or person of colour or racialized

  • Creative arts therapist in Canada or student enrolled in a creative arts therapies program in Canada (confirmation of current enrollment will be required)

  • Proof of conference registration

  • A short paragraph describing how the bursary may support your learning goals in creative arts therapies

Adjudication process:

The bursaries will be adjudicated by the 2021 conference co-chairs and CATA-ACAT vice president. Applicants will be notified of the results by November 5, 2021.
